Penny McBride, newly appointed chief operating officer at Second Chances Farm, is a passionate environmentalist who has worked for the past 20 years in sustainable food solutions and organic waste management systems.
Born on a farm, Penny’s grandparents were Japanese immigrants, instilling in her an empathy for people who are trying to make it through life’s challenges in any way possible.
“I think that’s why I appreciate Second Chances Farm’s dual mission to help people thrive through social and cultural challenges,” says Penny, “so whether people have disabilities or strive for integration back into the community, and indoor vertical farms can help build that bridge.”
